Since enrolling in the business pathway, I have developed an interest in finance and international connection. As I come closer to entering college, I've come to realize that I would like to double major in international business and finance. Once I receive my bachelors and graduate with an MBA from business school, I look forward to becoming a financial analyst. However, I would prefer to step into a management position, similar to my mentor, after working as a financial analyst.
While shadowing my mentor, the controller of the global utility tractor product line at John Deere, I was able to help conduct financial reviews of different international branches at John Deere. Because I had researched the different factors that are considered when financially analyzing a company, I was able to implement this knowledge when conducting said reviews. I then used the information I gained during the financial reviews to create a financial summary of the international departments.
Throughout this project, I've had the opportunity to learn how businesses are able to hold and manage branches across the globe. Not only did I learn about how global management works, but I was also able to observe how location affects the finances of different departments in said branches. This experience not only gave me an inside look at how international businesses work, but has opened my eyes to the exciting possibilities my financial future holds.
Why International Business?
